IntroAt Job&Talent, we are recruiting for a Structural Welder/Fitter to work with a leading company in the steel construction sector in Livonia. This role involves reading blueprints, performing high-quality MIG welding, and completing accurate fit-up on structural steel components in a fast-paced fabrication environment.
Shift Patterns
- Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM Monday thru Friday (Occasional Saturday)
- Overtime: Until 4:30 PM when needed
- 26.00 - 30.00 USD hourly
- Blueprint reading: Ability to read and build from structural blueprints.
- Tape-measure accuracy: Ability to read a tape measure confidently and precisely.
- MIG welding experience: Ability to perform structural MIG welding.
- Fit-up skills: Ability to layout, tack, and assemble steel components.
- Fabrication tool experience: Ability to use grinders, saws, and plasma cutting tools.
- Safety compliance: Ability to follow OSHA and shop safety practices.
- FCAW experience: Flux-core welding skills.
- TIG fundamentals: Basic TIG knowledge.
- Welding symbols: Strong symbol interpretation.
- Press brake: Machine operation experience.
- Fabrication projects: Custom or structural build experience.
- Interpret blueprints to build structural components.
- Perform structural MIG welding on carbon and mild steel.
- Measure, layout, fit, and tack structural parts.
- Operate shop tools including saws, grinders, and plasma cutters.
- Verify dimensions and weld quality to ensure accuracy.
