Utility Worker - Chula Vista

At Job&Talent, we are recruiting for Utility Worker to work with a leading company in General Laborer in Chula Vista. You will be working for the client in Chula Vista.

Shift Patterns

• Perform standby duty as assigned, at intervals of one (1) week period of time to provide emergency service on a twenty-four (24) hour a day basis; respond to emergencies as required on an "on-call" basis within 30 minutes

Pay Rates

• 32.12 - 38.69 USD hourly

Requirements

As a Utility Worker you will need to have:

• Experience in construction, operation, and maintenance of potable water pipelines, appurtenances, and services.
• Ability to operate large trucks and construction equipment such as loaders, backhoes, dump trucks, valve operating trucks and trenching machines.
• Willingness to perform standby duty and respond to emergencies on an 'on-call' basis within 30 minutes.
• Ability to excavate and cover trenches, and install shoring.
• Ability to use computers to access facility maps and information.

As a Utility Worker, it would be desirable to have:

• Proficiency in water main repair, replacement, flushing, disinfecting, testing, pipe cutting, and line tapping.
• Experience with service, hydrant, and valve installation, replacement, and exercising.
• Ability to break up and remove old concrete and asphalt.
• Skill in loading, unloading, and hauling materials and equipment.
• Competence in cutting and covering trenches.
• Ability to install and remove meter boxes.
• Experience in building rough forms, mixing, and pouring concrete.
• Ability to lay asphalt.
• Skill in locating and marking out existing utility facilities and appurtenances.
• Ability to control and direct traffic, including placing and removing cones, barricades, and signs.
• Experience in completing paperwork, including work orders and service papers.
• Ability to maintain records and draw intersection maps.

Role of a Utility Worker

• Perform construction, operation, and maintenance of water pipelines and related infrastructure.
