Press Operator
The Production Press Operator is responsible for performing all tasks necessary to operate plastic injection molding machine.
Handles manufactured parts with necessary inspection routines.
Packages parts per product packing directions and maintains a high level of accuracy in a clean and efficient manner.
Has the authority to shut down a machine if employee safety or product quality are not guaranteed.
Has the authority to raise quality concerns to Process Technician or Quality Technician when an anomaly
is identified.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
• Follow operator work instructions for each designated workstation.
• Reports concerns to Process Technician and provides follow-up as requested.
• Responsible for 5S in their assigned area by always maintaining a clean and organized work area, as well as ensuring all previously run parts and materials have been removed from the press area and any spilled product is cleaned immediately.
• Provide information to Process Technician about possible issues with raw material or components, including low inventory or any possible contamination.
• Reports scrap generated to Process Technician on a daily basis.
• Weighs product to confirm packaging unit count on label.
• Packages and labels all product appropriately.
• Verifies the label is correct, per BO, and in proper location on the box.
• Ensures packaged parts match the first piece inspection parts.
• Maintains documentation of inspection findings.
• Sorts contained non-conforming products as requested.
• Performs all containment actions, including identification of a “clean point” and coordination of the sorting of any nonconforming products under the supervision of Quality Department or Process Technician.
• Supports with manual assembly operations as needed.
• Assists the Production Department in continuously improving the integrity of the department.
• Participates in problem root cause analysis with other team members.
