Estimating Engineer
Job and Talent seeks a highly organized and technically skilled Estimating Engineer to support sales and manufacturing. This role provides technical expertise across quoting, design, and production, requiring an analytical, detail-oriented, and collaborative individual to ensure accurate estimates, optimized processes, and high-quality deliverables.
Qualifications:
Engineering degree or related technical field (preferred). Experience with CAD (AutoCAD, Inventor) and knowledge of manufacturing processes/materials. Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication (Bilingual English/Spanish a plus), organizational, and adaptability skills.
Required Software: Windows OS, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word), CAD Software.
Core Responsibilities:
Estimating & Sales Support: Provide accurate quotes, interpret customer specifications/drawings, create/modify CAD drawings, reverse engineer parts, coordinate vendor pricing, manage engineering documentation, assist sales/customers, and process orders/work orders.
Production Engineering: Develop SOPs, optimize workflows (lean principles), troubleshoot issues, improve efficiency/quality/cost, support new product introduction (prototyping/scale-up), conduct time studies, support tooling/setup, ensure safety/ergonomics, and coordinate with quality control.
Product Knowledge & Development: Understand materials/processes, evaluate alternatives for cost/performance, and stay informed of capabilities.
Research & Development: Identify new tools/methods to improve quality/efficiency and assist in new product development/proof-of-concept.
Sourcing: Source materials/components, maintain detailed records, and evaluate vendors for competitiveness/quality.
Quality Assurance: Promote quality policies, ensure customer requirements are met, proactively improve quality, and resolve complaints.
