Position Overview

The Maintenance Helper will support the maintenance team by assisting in general upkeep and repair tasks across The Client’s facility. This is a physically demanding role that involves heavy lifting, working with steel, welding support tasks, and ensuring repair work meets quality and safety standards. The Maintenance Helper will perform basic repairs, assist with testing to verify repair accuracy, and help with varied maintenance duties as needed.

Key Responsibilities

Assist maintenance technicians with routine and non-routine repairs and installations of machinery and equipment.

Perform basic repair tasks and support more experienced maintenance personnel in troubleshooting and corrective work.

Test completed repairs to ensure they function properly and meet quality standards.

Prepare work areas, move tools and materials, and assist in setting up equipment for maintenance tasks.

Clean, organize, and maintain tools, materials, and workspaces.

Carry out heavy lifting and material handling safely and efficiently as required.

Support welding operations by preparing materials, holding components, and assisting welders.

Follow safety protocols, lock-out/tag-out procedures, and site expectations during all maintenance activities.

Report issues, work progress, and safety observations to maintenance supervisors.

Perform other duties as assigned by the maintenance lead or supervisor.
