CNC Machine Operator

Machinist - Amory

At Job&Talent, we are recruiting for a Machinist to work with a leading manufacturer of industrial valves in Amory. This role is essential for producing precision components by setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC and manual machining equipment to meet strict engineering specifications.


Shift Patterns

• 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday to Thursday


• Occasional overtime on Fridays


• This is a temp-to-hire position with a goal of conversion to full-time after 90 days, based on performance, attendance, and attitude

Pay Rates

• 25.00 USD hourly

Must-Have Requirements for Machinist

• Proven experience operating CNC and/or manual machining equipment


• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and technical drawings


• Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges


• Solid understanding of machining principles, including speeds, feeds, and tooling selection


• Ability to independently set up machines and verify parts against dimensional tolerances

Desirable Requirements for Machinist

• Experience machining parts from castings or performing rework on existing components


• Ability to troubleshoot machine malfunctions and address out-of-tolerance conditions


• Experience working in environments with controlled documentation and strict work instructions


• Strong commitment to safety protocols, PPE usage, and maintaining a clean work area


• Excellent communication skills for reporting quality concerns and collaborating with team members

Role for Machinist

• Set up and operate CNC lathes, mills, and manual equipment to produce precision parts


• Determine machining sequences, tooling, and fixtures based on part specifications


• Perform in-process and final inspections to ensure finished parts meet quality standards


• Maintain a safe and organized work environment while following standardized work instructions


• Report abnormal machine conditions or safety issues to supervision promptly
